How Are We Funded?

Having personally worked in this field supporting domestic abuse victims for several years, our team are incredibly fortunate to have a network of organisations and individuals who help towards funding Change Ur Life.

A Shared Passion For Changing Lives

Since gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience working with individuals across the Bedfordshire area, we noticed the lack of support for those suffering from domestic abuse in particular boroughs. We felt as if there needed to be a dedicated outreach service for individuals of all genders over the age of sixteen, so established Change Ur Life with the mission to empower victims to begin a new life away from fear.

We have been lucky enough to be funded by the Police Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire, Festus Akinbusoye, who has generously given us the opportunity to set up a safe haven for those who need it the most. Festus, along with his team, is responsible for ensuring that Bedfordshire remains as safe as possible for its community, giving all residents a voice and a chance to make a change. They work alongside both the police and the public to fight crime, while providing peace of mind that victims can seek support whenever they need it.

The Police Crime Commissioner is currently the primary funding for Change Ur Life, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the support of Festus and her team. It is down the shared passion for changing lives that our outreach service has been made possible.

How Can You Support Change Ur Life?

Our outreach service offers both emotional and physical support; however, we recognise that this may not always be enough for victims of domestic abuse. With this in mind, our goal over the next few years is to raise enough funds to develop a 24/7 helpline and online chat platform. This has always been vitally important to us, but down to consequences of the recent pandemic, has now become absolutely essential for individuals who are unable to reach out through other methods.

To do this, we are asking for the generous support of the public, who can help our organisation through one of the following:
